#GrandRapidsMI #RealEstate Affordability Is a Good Thing? Yes, Indeed.

We're all about finances here at #ITPN, and since tax time will be coming soon, you're going to want to see one of the most heavily regarded economies and see how well it's actually doing in Grand Rapids, MI: the real estate market, particularly for the middle class.

Housing affordability is key, and GR has one of the best in the nation. Just how healthy is it? Stats were in saying that a middle class family in this western Michigan city could easily buy a home for approximately 22% of the current income.

Not too shabby. That, in fact, ranks as the 14th best metric in the U.S., and it's even better than the more expensive markets for our nation's coastal regions.

Honest #CreditCounseling Can Be a Deal for Your Wallet

Please don't be fooled by the hefty fees and retainers, and while probably the most reputable credit counselor may also be an attorney (who can, and often does, charge quite the retaining fee), legal representation is NOT a credit counseling session by any means.

A reputable credit counselor will charge a REASONABLE fee. Not anything that'll break your bank, really. So be sure to ask the ultimate question: "how much do you charge?" Don't mince words and get to the nitty gritty. Then do comparisons with multiple other credit counselors you've consulted, and see which one might be the best fit for you.

8 Real Questions to Ask Your Prospective Credit Counselor

Not every credit counselor out there is the same. In FACT, you might be wrong on what a credit counselor is! Here’s what you need to know.

Reason 8 Why #LGBT #Workplace #Discrimination Will Be No More: #DestinationWeddings

This is actually quite fitting given the legal development of gay marriage in the United States. Here's one corporate supporter according to the massive global coalition to ensure that there never is any workplace discrimination, particularly of the LGBT community. DestinationWeddings.com makes their stamp on that issue with fervor.

How big are they? They don't do too bad, honestly. They have two corporate offices, one in the U.S. and one in Canada. And they also have over 200 certified destination wedding specialists throughout both countries.

Needless to say, the LGBT community won't have to worry about finding a destination for their weddings. And the company supports equality in the workplace, too!

We recently seen the news about Kim Davis, Pope Francis, and the gay marriage thing, so everyone’s worried about workplace discrimination. Fear not, though!

Crazy Presidential #Pardons: the Iran-Contra Scandal

We have to hand it to #Bush (Not W., but H.W.) — the guy knew how to argue a point, and he made good on it with this particular pardon: Casper Weinberger, the former Secretary of Defense, and five other individuals. All together, they were integral in the entire Iran-Contra affair, but here's the thing:

Those individuals were crucial to the comprehensive history of governmental service, and the fact that they all had an 'opinion' regarding the issue with Iran, Bush thought it prudent to make it a political matter versus a criminal matter. Pardon executed. President Bush, well played.

Why Word-of-Mouth Advertising Contributes to #CreditCounseling Credentials

A #creditcounselor  better have some word out on the street that they have the past clientele praising good work, or you might as well be dealing with a hack or someone who's just flat inexperienced. Sorry to say, but the person may not be a scammer, but will have to really dig down dirty to build the clientele list and at least get ONE good review out of word-of-mouth advertising, which is why a consumer should always ask for references.

Just one reference can be the deal maker when it comes to working with a credit counselor. You just want that one seal of approval that says another client in the past declared that the credit counselor can actually do a good job!

Every home in the USA has furniture. Even businesses have furniture! So let's look at Mitchell Gold, a company, which has been growing for over two decades and supplying employees with some of the best perks any company could ever dream of supplying, such as a health-conscious cafeteria, employee gym, an indoor walking track, even its own daycare center for those workers who need help watching the kids!

This is basically a 'factory' for building furniture. Chairs. Couches. That sort of thing. That's luxury for the employee….

But did you know this one company supports the global coalition for the elimination of workplace discrimination, particularly for the LGBT community?

#IDTheft: This Message Will Self-Destruct in Ten Seconds

Yes, in real life as well as the silver screen with exploding trains, scaling windows, bombs, fight scenes, and motorcycle chase sequences can identity theft occur in the worst way, and when a Wichita, KS, man decided to go into a police station and report as an "undercover agent" assuming the identity of a local homeowner, you'd think the cops would start asking questions.

Thankfully, they did. A unit was sent to the house to find that same man, the "undercover agent," living there like normal under the guise of the stolen name — of which the REAL homeowner had been absent for several months due to caring for a sick mother in another town. All without that poor man knowing about his stolen property.

Self-destruct, indeed.

8 Identity Theft Stories That’ll “Awaken the Force” in You

Reason 10 Why #LGBT #Workplace #Discrimination Will Be No More: #Replacements

You like china? The fine dinnerware? We do, too. You'll be pleased to know that the company known as "Replacements" not only has provided that exact product since 1981, but grew so incredibly with their inventory back in 2011 to an amount of 14MM, complete with over 340K patterns and annual sales of $80MM. Customer base? How about 10MM customers TOTAL?

Their growth was so staggering: going from $159K annual to $4MM annual — in just four years. Inc. Magazine named Replacements as one of the 500 fastest-growing companies in the U.S., plus the china during its growth has been featured for celebrities, including Barbra Streisand, Ted Kennedy, Patrick Dwayze, and even the Pope.

….Pretty ironic given that Replacements also supports the LGBT community to eliminate workplace discrimination! Yep, we don't see any problem for any of you to find a job. Anywhere. Everywhere.

Life just happens, good or bad, for many families out there in the United States. There’s no denying it. Single mothers, even single fathers: low-income families have a burden on their shoulders where basic bookkeeping becomes a stress of mammoth proportions due to the fact that there’s never enough income generated to pay necessary bills just to make it day by day.

So what has to be in place? Simply put, government aid. It’s almost a necessity for low-income families. But whether you think it’s a crutch or not, and whether many simply seem to take advantage of the benefits offered by the government, one thing is clear — even the families that do work hard seem to only make it by the skin of their teeth, having to pull from their next paychecks to pay back someone who lent money, or robbing “Peter” to pay numerous “Pauls,” because the fact is this — government aid can only do so much in comparison to personal finances (and, yet, there’s so much going into those funds that it may shock you).

Here Are Five Facts That Just Might Blow You Away With Respect to Government Aid and Low-Income Familieslow-income families

What Do These Facts Mean to You? That They Prove Benefits Don’t Benefit?

On the contrary…. They certainly make their mark. If it wasn’t for these programs, you’d have single parents on minimum wage or low-income families stuck in homeless shelters without any way to make the rent payment. That’s just a matter of fact….

But when you’ve got a certain fast-food chain making anywhere around $4.8BB in annual profits, it begs the question about employment — why not pay your workers what they earn with all the hours they put in, or want to put in, so they can get off of government aid and not have to pick and choose on their expenses?

Your average low-income worker will have just over $6K in annual income and about $11K in benefits for food, rent and child care. How’s that for a perspective on low-income families?

ITPN recognizes there’s a problem with the current system we have in place. So let’s fix it. Now.

Here Are Five Facts That Just Might Blow You Away With Respect to Government Aid and Low-Income Familieslow-income families

  • Minimum Wage Jobs Don’t Often Guarantee Raises or Even Consistent Workweeks — Take it from many particular employees, most of them part-time, for certain fast-food chains. When the paychecks aren’t the same every other week, that makes budgeting all the more difficult for low-income families. Find out what those figures are right here.
  • Food Stamps, While Extensive, Can Fluctuate and Also Promote Bad Health — Think about it for a moment. There’s a lot of money already going into the fund, but the big problem is just what you can exactly buy with your food stamps. This is typically how it would work for a single mother with a low wage of $7.50/hour.
  • Yes, Low-Income Families Do Put Their Share Into Child Care Benefits — As much as they can possibly put into it, at least…. Given the kind of income they’re literally forced to bring in. Want to know just what they could be responsible for each week?
  • Additionally, Low-Income Families Do Put Their Share Into Rent and Housing Costs — Granted, there are no handouts. But the numbers might actually shock you when you put it into perspective like this.
  • Medicaid Will Only Provide for “so Much” to the Point That You’ll Just Want to Get By — It’s basic health insurance. But it’ll only cover certain procedures, prescriptions and other costs, plus there’s still some out-of-pocket concerns at such a low minimum wage that make Medicaid a bit laughable (not due to the government’s lack of assistance, though, and you’ll see why right here).
